Create and manage roles for additional users to help you with your events, invite or remove team members, and control what each person can access. Assigning team members their own roles keeps your account secure and reduces login issues, since each person signs in with their own credentials instead of sharing yours.
To get started, go to Organization settings and select Team management.
You can't invite users to your organization unless you have created a role for them to be assigned to.
Note: Eventbrite doesn't have a separate "event admin" role — Admin access applies across your whole organization. To give someone admin-level access to only one event, invite them using a custom role and check "Limited event access" (see "Invite a user" below).
Manage roles
Before you can add a user to your organization, you need to have a role to assign them to. Your organization has four default roles:
- Owner: This is the main account holder. There can only be one owner role in an organization.
- Admin: Admins have access to all events and permissions. Also referred to as "full admin" or "admin access." There can be multiple admin roles in an organization.
- Check-in attendees: This role allows team members to check in attendees only at the event using a single login with the Organizer app.
- Check-in attendees and guests: This role allows team members to check in attendees and guests using a single Organizer app login.
Team members assigned to a default "Check-in" role must not have any additional roles or permissions across any organization. If a team member needs more than check-in access, assign them the default Admin role or create a custom role.
Create a role
- Go to Organization settings.
- Select Team management.
- Choose Roles. Then select Create new role.
- Name the role and assign permissions. Then select Create.
Edit a role's permissions
- Go to Organization settings.
- Select Team management.

Learn more about team member permissions.
View, edit, or delete a role
- Go to Organization settings.
- Select Team management.
- Choose Roles. Then select the three-dot menu icon next to the role you want to review.
- View, edit, or delete a role.
- View - Check the permissions set for the role.
- Edit - Edit the permissions for the role.
- Delete - Delete the role. If any users are assigned to the role you want to delete, assign them to a new role first. Then delete the role.
NOTE: Owners can’t be edited or deleted. Instead, transfer ownership of the Eventbrite account to the person you want to be the new owner.
Manage users
You can have more than one Admin on your account — there's no limit on the number of Admin roles in an organization (only the Owner role is limited to one person). To make someone a full Admin: if they're not yet a team member, invite them and assign the Admin role (see "Invite a user" below). If they're already a team member, edit their role to Admin instead (see "Edit a user's role" below). If they only need access to specific events rather than the whole organization, use a custom role instead of Admin.
After you've created a role, invite users to your organization to help manage your events. A single role can have multiple users assigned to it, and a user can be assigned to more than one role. You can invite up to 20 users to your organization at a time.
Invite a user
- Go to Organization settings.
- Select Team management.
- Select Users.
- Select Invite users. Users invited to your organization will need to log in to their Eventbrite account in order to accept your invitation. If they don't have an Eventbrite account, they'll need to create one using the email address they received the invitation at.
- Email Address - Enter the email address of the person you are assigning to a role. This will be the email address they log in with to access your event.
- Role - Choose the role in the dropdown that best fits the user — for example, Admin for full access to all events, or a custom role for limited access. Users can be assigned to more than one role.
- Optional: Limited event access - Check this box and select the search bar to choose specific events for this user to have access to.
- Select Add and return to Team management.
When you invite someone, they'll receive an email from Eventbrite and can select Get started to accept the invitation. Until they accept, "Invitation sent" shows next to their name. If they can't find the email, select the three-dot menu next to their name and choose Copy invitation URL to share the link directly.
Users can only be edited after they accept your invitation. You can remove users at any time.
Edit a user's role
- Go to Organization settings.
- Select Team management.
- Select Users.
- Select the three-dot menu next to the user.
- Choose Edit or Delete.
- Edit - Assign the user to a different role or multiple roles. To change a user's role, assign them to their new role before removing them from their current role.
- Delete - Delete the user from all roles. Users who are not assigned to a role will be removed from your organization entirely.
- Select Save.
Remove a team member from your organization
You can remove a team member (also called a subuser) from your Eventbrite organization at any time from Team management. Once removed, that person immediately loses access to your events and any permissions tied to their role. A user who isn't assigned to any role is removed from your organization entirely.
Only the account owner, or an admin with permission to manage users, can remove other users.
Before you start
- You must be signed in as the account owner or a team member with permission to manage users.
- Team management is available on Professional plans and higher. On Essentials, you'll need to upgrade to edit or remove roles and users.
- Removing a user from a role is permanent. To give them access again later, you'll need to invite them back.
Steps to remove a team member
- Go to Organization settings.
- Select Team management.
- Select Users.
- Select the three-dot menu next to the user you want to remove.
- Select Delete.
- Delete the user from all roles.
- Select Save.
Users who aren't assigned to any role are removed from your organization entirely.
If you're a team member and want to be removed
If you're not the account owner, you can't remove yourself directly. You have two options:
- Contact the account owner and ask them to remove you from your role.
- If you can't reach the account owner, contact Eventbrite support from the email address associated with your role. We'll email you a confirmation request — reply to that email with your written permission to be removed from the role. Once verified, we'll remove you from the organization and confirm with you.
Once removed, you'll lose access to that organization's events and permissions. Eventbrite can't add you back — the account owner would need to invite you again.
If you shared your login with other people
If multiple people signed in using the same email and password, removing that "user" from Team management won't log them out. Instead, change your password and, if needed, contact Eventbrite support to log you out of the account across all devices.
Troubleshooting
- I don't see Team management in my settings. You're likely on the Essentials plan. Upgrade to Professional or higher to access Team management.
- The Delete option is greyed out. Your role may not have permission to manage users. Ask the account owner to update your permissions or handle the removal.
- I'm listed as Owner and can't remove myself. Only one owner exists per organization. Transfer ownership first, or contact support to be removed after providing written permission from the email on the role.
FAQs
Can I add a second (or third) administrator? Yes. Go to Organization settings > Team management > Users > Invite users, enter their email, and set their role to Admin. Multiple people can hold the Admin role at once.
