If you're a developer and would like to use Eventbrite's API for your own app, create an Eventbrite account, then generate an API key from your account settings. Visit the Eventbrite developer documentation for more information.
Tip: If you're an event organizer looking to use an app for extra functionality, visit the Eventbrite App Marketplace.
Generate an API key
- Go to Account Settings. Log in and go to your Account Settings from the navigation menu.
- Go to "API Keys" (under Developer Links). If you don't see this option, your organization may not have given you permission. Ask the owner or admin of your organization to give you permission to "Create webhooks."
- Select "Create API key."
-
Request a new API key. Enter the following information to request a new application key:
- Name: The first and last name of the contact for your application.
- Company Name (optional): The name of your company.
- Application URL: The link for your application.
- OAuth Redirect URI (optional): The place in your application to which the user is redirected after authenticating with Eventbrite. Used during the third-party OAuth flow.
- Application Name: The name of your application.
- Description: A short description with the most important information about your application.
- Choose "Create Key." After entering the required information, choose "Create Key" to generate a new application key. You'll receive an email from Eventbrite when your API application key is approved.
Rate limits
The Eventbrite API enforces default rate limits on all integrated applications:
- 2,000 calls per hour
- 48,000 calls per day
Some event actions have lower limits:
- Create and Copy Event: 200 calls per hour
- Publish Event: 200 calls per hour
- Create Event Schedule: 200 calls per hour
For the most current limits, see Rate limits in the Eventbrite developer documentation.
Troubleshooting
The Eventbrite API developer documentation gives a comprehensive overview of Eventbrite's API and explains how to solve common issues, such as confirming your endpoint is spelled correctly with the correct parameters. Consult the documentation if you have any questions about your API key integration.
Note: Eventbrite support cannot assist with API issues.
