Add Eventbrite Embedded Checkout to WordPress.org

Add Embedded Checkout using the Block Editor

1. Sign in to your WordPress.org dashboard.
2. Select Pages or Posts.
3. Open the page or post where you want Embedded Checkout to appear.
4. Select the + icon to add a new block.
5. Search for and select Custom HTML.
6. Paste your Eventbrite embed code into the block without editing it.
7. Move the block to the location where you want Embedded Checkout to appear.
8. Select Preview to check the page.
9. Select Update or Publish.
10. Open the published page and test Embedded Checkout.

Add Embedded Checkout using the Classic Editor

If your website uses the WordPress Classic Editor:

1. Open the page or post where you want Embedded Checkout to appear.
2. Select the Text tab to open the HTML editor.
3. Find the location where you want Embedded Checkout to appear.
4. Paste your Eventbrite embed code without editing it.
5. Select Preview Changes to check the page.
6. Select Update or Publish.
7. Open the published page and test Embedded Checkout.

Troubleshoot WordPress display issues

The embed code appears as text

Make sure you added the code using a Custom HTML block. Do not add it using a Paragraph or Code block.

If you use the Classic Editor, make sure you paste the code under the Text tab rather than the Visual tab.

The embed code disappears or changes

WordPress permissions, security plugins, or editor settings may remove or modify HTML and JavaScript when you save the page.

Copy the original code from Eventbrite and paste it again without editing it. If WordPress continues to remove or change the code, ask your website administrator or developer to review your site’s permissions, plugins, and editor settings.

WordPress adds formatting to the code

WordPress may add paragraph or line-break tags around the embed code, preventing Embedded Checkout from displaying correctly.

Check the HTML for additional paragraph or line-break tags. Remove the additional formatting, or paste a new copy of the original Eventbrite code into a Custom HTML block.

Embedded Checkout appears, but does not work correctly

If Embedded Checkout is unavailable, redirects attendees to Eventbrite, displays the wrong event, or does not work in a specific browser, see "Troubleshoot common Embedded Checkout issues."

Note: You do not need to disable the WordPress Block Editor to add Embedded Checkout. Avoid changing sitewide WordPress settings unless your website administrator or developer confirms that the change is appropriate.
