Choose to release QR codes 24 or 48 hours before your event, making it harder for resellers to resell tickets in advance. To get started, go to your event dashboard, select Tickets, then select Settings and turn on Delay QR code release.
1. Go to your event dashboard.
Log in to your Eventbrite account and go to Events. Then select your event.
2. Go to "Tickets" and select the "Settings" tab.
In your event dashboard, select Tickets. Then select the Settings tab.
3. Find the "Reselling protection" section.
4. Turn on "Delay QR code release."
By default, attendees receive their QR codes immediately after they purchase. Turn on the Delay QR code release toggle to delay when the QR code is available to them. Attendees will still get their tickets right away, but won't receive their QR codes until closer to your event.
This setting applies to all tickets for your event, but doesn't apply to add-ons. It can't be turned on for individual ticket types.
5. Choose when to release QR codes.
Select when you want QR codes to become available:
- 48 hours before the event starts
- 24 hours before the event starts
The date and time the QR codes will be released is displayed under each option and is based on your event's start time.
For recurring and timed entry events, the release time is calculated from the date and time of each attendee's ticket. Each date or time slot releases its QR codes according to its scheduled start date and time.
6. Save your changes.
After checkout, Eventbrite displays a message letting attendees know their ticket is confirmed, and shows the date and time their QR code will be available. This message is displayed in their confirmation email, Eventbrite account, and in the Eventbrite app, where it also includes a countdown. QR codes are released automatically at the scheduled time, and an email is sent to you and your attendees when their QR code is available.
